General Mural Info and Pricing

Mural pricing depends on several key factors:

  1. Materials Quality: The type of paint (spray paint, latex, clear coats, primers) used can affect costs.

  2. Equipment Needs: Items such as scaffolding, lifts, sprayers, and masking materials may be required.

  3. Design Complexity: Costs vary based on the design's detail, number of colors, size, and style.

  4. Design Process: Creating the mural involves digital mock-ups, sketches, and possibly paint samples, which contribute to the overall cost.

Design Process & Fees:

The mural design begins with a $300 deposit, which covers up to three design revisions. Any additional revisions will incur a fee of $50 per sketch. The deposit is non-refundable but will be credited toward the final cost of the mural once the design is approved.

Pricing:

  • Cost: Mural prices typically range from $15-$50 per square foot, with a minimum charge of $800.

  • This price includes insurance, materials, design, labor, and equipment but does not cover wall repairs or preparation (such as cleaning, masonry, priming) or clear coating. Wall priming may be included for an additional $3 per sq. ft. This will cover the cost of material and labor. If required, clear coating may incur an additional cost, though exterior-grade paint may not need it.

Wall Preparation

Because the longevity of the mural is dependent on the security of the surface on which it’s painted, it is recommended that exterior walls be power washed one week before priming to ensure proper dry time.

Materials Deposit:

A deposit of 50% of the total mural cost is required before painting begins to cover the purchase of materials and reserve equipment.
